BTV Sets Oct. 18 Air Date for Kishibe Seven Special — a Week of Access, All Seven Members
Bayside Television (BTV) announced on the 29th that its previously reported Kishibe Seven special will air Oct. 18 (Saturday) at 7 p.m. Coordination followed the group's Sept. 28 rise to the top of the streaming chart with 'Ahead of the Light,' and filming — a week of access to all seven members — is set for early October, with a segment following the daily lives of Noa Kishiyanagi and Iroha Urahata, the two members with Drift features, also planned.
BTV announced on the 29th that its previously reported Kishibe Seven special will air Oct. 18 (Saturday) in a one-hour slot starting at 7 p.m. The scheduling moved quickly after "Ahead of the Light" reached the top of streaming service Minato's weekly music chart for the first time on Sept. 28. "We've been in programming meetings since the day after the No. 1 was announced," a BTV programming official said. "We wanted to get this out while it's fresh."
The program will follow all seven members over a week of filming in early October. Producers said they plan to capture scenes that rarely get camera access — rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, even conversations in transit — and that some behind-the-scenes footage from the Sept. 23 outdoor performance at the "Kishibe no Uta" festival will also be used. "We're less interested in flashy staging than in catching the seven of them talking as themselves," the producer said. "We want this to be quieter than something like 'Wall-Top Variety.'"
The program will also include a segment following the daily lives of Noa Kishiyanagi, 20, and Iroha Urahata, 19, the two members with Drift features. As previously reported, the pair unveiled the completed tail choreography for the new single at the Sept. 23 festival. "Beyond the choreography's backstage story, I'd love to catch their ordinary tail care, or small exchanges in the rehearsal room," the producer said. A spokesperson for Ushiogai Records added, "We'll film within whatever range feels comfortable to them, with their own wishes coming first."
The broadcast announcement has also fed interest in the previously reported add-on concert (Nov. 14, Bayside Civic Hall), whose lottery-based ticket registration is due to open in early October. "The special and the lottery are close together, so I'm excited about both at once and can't sit still," one fan in her twenties said. BTV plans to roll out preview footage in stages starting in early October, ahead of the broadcast.
