Kishihachi Ryutei's 'Window Art' to Return for Encore Show
Sakaishio Records announced on the 26th that rakugo performer Kishihachi Ryutei's, 68, new piece 'Window Art' will officially return for the previously reported Kishibe no Uta encore concert (November 14, Bayside Civic Hall), following its September 23 premiere. The performance had been under discussion until today's confirmation.
Sakaishio Records announced the lineup for its November 14 Kishibe no Uta encore concert at Bayside Civic Hall on the 26th, confirming that Kishihachi Ryutei's new rakugo piece "Window Art" — previously reported as still under discussion — will officially return. It will mark the piece's second performance following its outdoor premiere on September 23.
"An indoor stage, and a second telling on top of that, brings its own kind of difficulty," Kishihachi told this paper. "I've said again and again that this piece never settles on a single origin. This time I'll have to be careful not to accidentally settle on one by mistake." Sakaishio Records said the previously confirmed appearances by Yuki Shirase and Kishibe Seven remain unchanged, with lottery-format ticket registration set to open in early October. Asked about the move from an open-air venue to the indoor Bayside Civic Hall (capacity roughly 1,500), a representative said, "It's a different feeling from the openness of an outdoor stage — we want audiences to enjoy the pacing a proper rakugo stage was built for." Kishihachi himself added, "How 'Window Art' plays out under a roof is honestly something I won't know until I try it."
