Tide Rowing was held on the 11th at the Fukagawa Canal to coincide with the season's biggest spring tide, with the Fukagawa Tide Rowing Association beating Sunamachi Rowing Club by three boat-lengths (a 4-minute tidal gap). Weather forecaster Shioji Hatano, once Sunamachi's own tide reader, drew attention after being invited to commentate for Fukagawa. Attendance came to roughly 420 by organizers' count, sharply up from about 260 at the last spring tide in late September. Hexball and Shido Swordplay return next weekend. The Shinobi Trial 'Long Night Cup' is in November, with Iori Kiryu chasing a third straight title.
