Window 5 'the Sword Country' Stays Open Over an Hour for the First Time — Market 'Tablets' Again Resemble the Lit City's

According to the TDA's Dimensional Survey Division, Window 5, "the Sword Country" (Lineage 52), located behind the No. 3 Appraisal Center in Kameido, stayed open for 87 minutes from 2:14 to 3:41 a.m. on the 26th. As previously reported, Window 5 has generally had shorter openings than the other four windows since it entered service in April 2026, leaving both photographs and observation records scarce — but this session set a new record for the window's longest opening yet. A window keeper and a science-desk reporter shared observation duty.

Beyond the previously reported castle walls, mounted riders, and armored processions, what came into view this time was a market street scene outside the castle. Several figures were seen pushing wooden handcarts back and forth, with a few holding up what appeared to be wooden tablets in some kind of exchange. The Survey Division again noted, as previously reported, that the shape of these tablets closely resembles the "ritual tablets" observed at Lineage 7, "the Lit City" — but maintained its cautious stance that "a resemblance in shape is all we can say at this stage." The relationship between Lineage 52 and Lineage 7 remains unresolved and stays on the list of matters under review.

According to the Survey Division, Window 5's previous longest opening was 42 minutes, recorded in mid-June — meaning today's 87 minutes is more than double that. The division said, "It was surprising to see an opening this long less than half a year into service," but stopped short of calling it a trend: "We'd need several more sessions' worth of data to say whether openings are lengthening or this was simply one long session." Among the adult figures in the market street, one noticeably shorter figure was also observed; the division said, "It appears to be a child-sized figure, but we won't state that as confirmed."

No window-drift item was recovered this time. It falls short of becoming a third recovered item after the previously reported clasp (September 7) and tassel-like braided cord (September 21), but the Survey Division said, "The sheer length of this opening is itself valuable material, including for the chance of a future item."

As previously reported, the outside advisory panel whose seven members were confirmed on the 25th has listed the resemblance between Window 5's recovered items and Lineage 7's "ritual tablets" as one of its agenda topics. Etsuko Kajiura, 58, confirmed as the panel's chair, did not directly address today's opening at her press appearance, but a Survey Division official said, "Getting this coherent a look at the market over 87 minutes should make for good material for the panel as well." The panel's first meeting is expected around early November, where the relationship between Window 5 and Lineage 7 is likely to come up.

The window keeper on duty said, "Until now this was a window that could close before you'd finished blinking, so this time I honestly wasn't sure what to look at first. Getting a proper look at the bustle of the market was a first, and I forgot my tea was going cold." The relationship between Window 5 and Lineage 7 is also among the topics on the agenda for the outside advisory panel whose members were confirmed just yesterday, as previously reported.

Window 5 has long been the faintest presence among the five, "the window with too few photographs." Today's 87 minutes finally offered a glimpse of its market's bustle. Whether two worlds holding up similarly shaped tablets are truly connected, or simply resemble each other by coincidence, remains, once again, an open question. But adding one more clearly shaped unknown to the pile is enough to make writing this page feel lighter. The world, it turns out, is still wide.
