Bayside TV Begins Weeklong Shadow Coverage of Kishibe Seven
Bayside TV (BTV) began a weeklong shadow-coverage shoot of all seven members of idol group Kishibe Seven on the 1st, ahead of a special program set to air Oct. 18. The project marks the group's previously reported No. 1 streaming finish with 'Ahead of the Light,' and will include an episode following the daily lives of Noa Kishiyanagi and Iroha Urahata.
Bayside TV (BTV) began filming its previously reported special program on Kishibe Seven on the 1st, ahead of the Oct. 18 broadcast. Day one started at Shiosai Records' recording studio with a look-back session on the new single, capturing all seven members talking together about the behind-the-scenes story of making "Ahead of the Light." "Precisely because the result is already a No. 1 streaming finish, we wanted to hear, in their own words, what it was like when they were still struggling," the program's director said of the approach.
As previously reported, the shadow coverage will include an episode following the daily lives of the group's two members with Drifter traits — center Noa Kishiyanagi, 20, a third-generation Drifter, and Iroha Urahata, 19, a second-generation Drifter who performed on stage with her tail uncovered for the first time on the new single. "I was nervous when I heard about the shadow coverage, but they told me to just be myself, so I will," Urahata said with a smile during the day's filming. Kishiyanagi commented, "It might be the first time in a while that the camera's on me as Noa Kishiyanagi, not just as 'Noa.'"
The shoot will proceed over a week, following all seven members in turn, with candidate scenes reportedly including lesson footage, time in the car between venues, and how members spend their days off. A Shiosai Records representative said, "Even calling it 'shadow coverage,' BTV's intent is to capture unscripted moments without over-producing it, and we're on board with that." Rehearsals for the previously reported Nov. 14 add-on concert are also expected to be among the scenes filmed.
Fan reaction was swift after the filming announcement, with Shiosai Records' official contact line fielding a string of requests to see off-shot photos from the shoot. BTV said it would "consider other ways to use material that doesn't make the final broadcast." The special remains set to air on Oct. 18 in its scheduled Bayside TV slot.
