Suzaki 'Knocking' Reaches 34 — This Time the Second Floor, Completing a Report on Every Level

Reports of "knocking" at Suzaki Third Housing have risen from a previously reported 33 to 34. According to the management association, the same two-knock pattern was confirmed at a second-floor unit around 3 a.m. on the 20th — the first report from that floor — meaning every level of the building, from the first floor to the fifth, has now recorded at least one report.

A management association official said, "You could say we've now made a full round of the floors, but the order and the intervals are still scattered, and no regularity has emerged. If anything, we have no way to tell whether this marks some kind of pause, or whether it starts over from the same floor again." The resident of the unit involved this time did not answer the door, in keeping with the previously reported guidance, and nothing beyond the sound was reported as unusual.

The covert patrol officer continuing the night watch was, as previously reported, limited by the building's layout to a single position and was on a different floor at the time of this report. The Patrol Guild's Tokei chapter commented, "The idea of splitting personnel between floors is still under consideration, but it hasn't been a fundamental solution."

TDA again held on the 20th that "the permeation index remains at normal levels, with nothing in our records corresponding to the reports." Though the same week saw the TDA Forecast Division announce reinforced bay-area monitoring ahead of the Sept. 21–23 spring tide, previously reported, an official said, "There's nothing to suggest a direct connection between the Suzaki Third Housing matter and the reinforced spring-tide monitoring." The management association is keeping its policy of asking residents not to respond, and neither the truth nor the cause of the matter has been resolved.
