The seventh round of the school tail-tag autumn league was played on the 4th at Edagawa High School's athletic field. Edagawa (46 years since its tail-tag club's founding), which avenged its season's only loss to Toyosu High on the 1st as previously reported, faced Kameido Academy. The match stayed close into its final stretch, with Edagawa ahead 9-7 in takes before adding two more in the closing minutes to win 11-7. The result improves Edagawa to 6-1 with two rounds left in the season, keeping it near the top of the standings. One of the team's captains said, "The wind was strong and the tail-taking got rougher than usual, but finishing with no injuries on either side mattered most."
As previously reported, players with animal traits have their tails protected under the sport's "do not touch" rule. Edagawa fields two such players, and the referees again briefed both teams on the rule before this round. Kameido Academy's coach said, "Knowing the rule is thoroughly understood lets us send our players out with peace of mind."
In other sports, the Hexball League office is expected to announce the fixtures and matchups for its next round (Round 12) in due course. In Tosatsu, both Gonzo Sawatari and Daichi Okonogi continue private training at the Shiomibashi Shopping Street tosatsu club ahead of their rematch on November 9th. In Shido Swordplay, Chitose Kanome and others continue training for Round 4 of the autumn Five-Match Series, a rematch with Owari at Owari Budokan on November 8th.
