News the Annex 'Exists' After All — Index-Rally Stocks Actually Buy, Reading It as Clearing Skies
The news that it exists, if anything, drew buying. At the Tokei Exchange on the 2nd, following the previously reported departure of the Window Treaty delegation and the Foreign Ministry's reversal, observation-equipment 'index rally' stocks ticked slightly higher — the market apparently finding more comfort in a known unknown than an unknown unknown.
At the Tokei Exchange on the 2nd, the previously reported observation-equipment and appraisal-related "index rally" stocks ticked slightly higher from the previous day — Tokei Precision Optics up 0.4%, Yatani Instruments up 0.3%. One market source said, "The lingering suspicion that there 'might' be an annex had been weighing on the market for a while. Now that it's confirmed this morning that there 'is' one, a lot of people seem to be reading that as the suspicion itself clearing up." TDI futures in Seishu also closed slightly higher.
Another market source, however, urged caution: "All that's confirmed is existence — the heaviest question, full disclosure versus confidentiality, hasn't been settled at all. Today's rise might be getting ahead of itself." Observation-related casualty insurance stocks showed no notable movement, staying in wait-and-see mode.
A further market move is expected once the first progress report comes in after the delegation arrives on the ground. This paper will keep following the market's reaction alongside the Window Treaty negotiations.
